Gary Mackay
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland Gary started playing bowls aged 9. Leaving school he worked as a Royal Mail Telegram Boy delivering some of the final batches before the service ceased in 1982.
Gary moved to Cambridgeshire in 1985 and played bowls at county level, whilst working professionally in child psychiatry, social care, teaching and even as a train driver. He’s also a professional actor having trained at Oxford School of Drama working in both West End and World Theatres as well as television and film for over 20 years.
Gary joined Five Lakes in 2023 and currently enjoys playing bowls in Colchester.
Potters Bowls Tournaments
Potters Bowls Tournaments run from September to May on our 4-Night Fully Inclusive Midweek Breaks.
The tournaments are competitive, yet fun and friendly. Teams will play four round robin matches, of up to 90 minutes per match with the break’s top performing teams moving to a knockout phase which concludes with the Final.
Those reaching the Quarter Finals and beyond can look forward to exclusive tournament prizes that include vouchers for future breaks as well as some great Potters Resorts mementos.
