Accommodation

At Hopton-on-Sea, we offer a range of accessible accommodation options designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Our Standard Bungalows and Hotel Premier rooms with full wetroom facilities are particularly popular, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Our Ease of Access Bungalows are ideal for wheelchair users, with ramp access and a convenient location close to the Resort. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a relaxed stay, including a hairdryer, TV with Freeview, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee making facilities.

For a more spacious option, our Hotel Premier rooms with wetrooms offer step-free access, a private patio, and a comfortable seating area. Each room also includes a TV with Freeview, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, drinks fridge/cooler, and complimentary toiletries. We also offer a Hotel Premier Single room with wetroom facilities.

Additionally at Hopton-on-Sea, we have rooms across all grades that include step-in showers and/or detachable shower heads for easier access.

At Five Lakes, our Hotel Premier Double Accessible Room is located on the second floor of the main hotel, close to indoor facilities, with access via lift or stairs. This room features a step-in shower, a wheelchair-accessible sink, and a toilet with handrails. Safety cords are provided in both the bedroom and bathroom, and wider doorways - including an outward-opening bathroom door - allow for easier access.

Additional in-room features include a TV, safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, drinks cooler, complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, Wi-Fi, and USB charging points. Please note that wetroom facilities are not available at Five Lakes.

At Five Lakes, we have rooms across all grades that include step-in showers for easier access.

Activities

At both Hopton-on-Sea and Five Lakes, a wide range of activities are included as part of your fully inclusive break. We aim to make these activities as accessible as possible, so more guests can take part and enjoy their stay.

If you have specific accessibility requirements for any of our activities, we recommend contacting the resort directly ahead of your stay. Our team will be happy to discuss your needs and provide more detailed information to help you plan with confidence.

Theatres

Our theatres offer a wide range of seating, with many step-free options on the ground floor. Wheelchair users are well accommodated, with plenty of spacious areas to enjoy the entertainment.

Swimming Pools

At Hopton-on-Sea, our pools are designed with accessibility in mind, featuring sloping steps for easier entry. A pool hoist is also available (maximum weight 18.5 stone) to support guests who may need additional assistance.

At Five Lakes, the swimming pool currently has three steps leading into the pool, which may make it unsuitable for wheelchair users. There are also steps leading into the Leisure Club changing rooms; however, a chair lift is available to assist guests in accessing the changing rooms. We recognise this is an important area for improvement and are looking at how we can enhance accessibility in the future.

Mobility Scooters and Powered Wheelchairs

Potters Resorts is committed to making our Resorts as accessible as possible and welcomes guests who use mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs due to injury, disability or a medical condition.

To help ensure the safety, comfort and accessibility of all guests and team members, the use of mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs is subject to our Mobility Scooter & Powered Wheelchair Policy (effective from 31st August 2026).

Before your arrival, we ask that you let us know if you intend to bring your own mobility scooter or powered wheelchair, or if you plan to hire one during your stay. This allows us to discuss any accessibility or accommodation requirements and help ensure the equipment is suitable for use around the Resort.

If you’d like any of these items in your room, simply speak to our team at the time of booking and we’ll be happy to arrange this for you.

Assistance Dogs

Guide dogs, hearing dogs, emotional support dogs and other assistance dogs are welcome at our Resorts. However. they must be registered and wear the appropriate identification or uniform throughout your stay.

For everyone's comfort and safety, all dogs should be kept on a lead at all times, including in outdoor areas, and must remain with their owner - they cannot be left alone in accommodation. We also ask that all assistance dogs are fully trained and toilet-trained.

Please bring your own dog bedding and food for your stay.

If you’re planning to bring an assistance dog, just let us know at the time of booking so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Parking

We offer disabled parking bays in our car parks, however availability is limited. To help us manage these spaces fairly, please ensure your Blue Badge is clearly displayed.

Special Requirements Form

If you discuss any mobility, medical or other requirements with our team at the time of booking, we may ask you to complete a Special Requirements Form.

Some sections of the form may not apply to you, but it helps us build a clear understanding of your needs so we can make your stay as smooth, comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
