Important Travel Update for Guests

We’d like to make guests aware of an emergency road closure near Five Lakes this morning, following a burst water main in the local area.

If you are travelling to us from Tiptree or Colchester, you may notice road closure signs and cones in place at the Salacot crossroads. Please be assured that access to Five Lakes is not affected from this direction. Guests can carefully drive around the cones to reach the resort as normal.

However, if you are approaching from Maldon, the road is currently closed and the signed diversion routes you onto very narrow country roads. These may not be suitable for a high volume of traffic or for drivers who are less confident.

For a smoother journey, we strongly recommend approaching the resort via Tiptree/Colchester, where access remains open. The road closure is expected to remain in place until 16th January 2026. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and share updates if anything changes.
