The Hopton-on-Sea Gardens Team are growing support for good causes.
Sitting atop the stunning Norfolk coast, the vibrant flowerbeds, neatly trimmed hedges and colourful seasonal displays at Hopton-on-Sea are all part of what makes the resort so special.
But behind the scenes of every bloom and beautifully kept green areas is a dedicated Gardens Team who not only keep the place looking pristine—they’ve also been quietly raising money for good causes in our community.

Over the past 12 months alone, they’ve already raised over £2,000 for the Potters Friends Foundation—our community interest company founded in memory of Brian Potter MBE—through their much-loved weekly Plant Sale.
Set up during the spring and summer months, the stall offers a seasonal selection of plants grown and nurtured right here at the resort, from cheerful marigolds to fresh herbs and even alpine strawberry plants.
But this is far more than just a chance to buy a plant or two. The sale has become a regular meeting point for guests looking to take a little piece of Potters’ greenery home with them, but it’s also a chance to have a good old chat with the green-fingered team who work so hard to keep the grounds looking beautiful.

“It’s lovely when guests stop by to ask questions or share their own gardening stories,” says Head Gardener, Vinnie. “And knowing the money is going to help in the community through the Potters Friends Foundation makes it even more rewarding.”
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just looking to brighten up your windowsill, you’re sure to find something you’ll like. And as many guests will tell you, it’s the little things—like taking home a plant nurtured at Potters—that create fond memories of their stay.
So if you’re joining us on a 4-Night Midweek Break in the weeks ahead, be sure to stop by and see the boys before you leave, in the knowledge that every penny made from the plant sale is also going to good causes.
