Mobility Scooter & Powered Wheelchair Policy
Five Lakes
Effective from 31st August 2026
Potters Resorts welcomes guests with mobility difficulties, whether due to injury, physical disability, or medical condition, who need to use a mobility scooter or wheelchair during their stay.
To support the safety, comfort, accessibility, and fire safety requirements of all guests and team members across the Resort, the following policy will apply from 31st August 2026.
Whilst Potters Resorts aims to support guests with accessibility requirements wherever reasonably possible, acceptance and use of mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs remains subject to Resort Operational, Accessibility, and Health & Safety requirements.
Mobility Scooter Hire
All mobility scooters required during a guest’s stay must be hired directly by the guest through our approved local supplier:
GK's Mobility - Witham
Telephone: 01376 500 016
Email: info@gksmobility.co.uk
Potters Resorts will no longer arrange, manage, or supply scooter hire on behalf of guests.
Please note that GK’s Mobility Witham operates independently from Potters Resorts. Any hire agreement, insurance, maintenance, breakdown support, or equipment concerns remain the responsibility of the guest and the supplier.
Guests intending to bring their own, or hire a mobility scooter or powered wheelchair are required to notify the Resort prior to arrival so that any accessibility or accommodation requirements can be discussed where appropriate.

To support Health & Safety, accessibility, and fire safety requirements, only the following mobility scooters are permitted for use inside Resort buildings and around Resort grounds:
Travel Mobility Scooters

Larger Class 3 scooters, road scooters, or unclassified powered vehicles will not be permitted within Resort buildings or grounds due to safety, access, and evacuation restrictions.
Guests are responsible for ensuring that the dimensions and classification of their mobility equipment comply with this policy prior to arrival.
Potters Resorts reserves the right to refuse the use of any mobility scooter or powered wheelchair deemed unsafe, unsuitable, or that is non-compliant with this policy, or which may present a risk to guests, team members, fire evacuation procedures, or Resort operations.
Guest Responsibilities
The responsibilities set out below apply to all mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs used within the Resort, whether hired through the Resort’s approved supplier or brought to the Resort by the guest.
Guests are responsible for:

• Ensuring the mobility equipment remains suitable for use within the Resort environment and complies with the requirements set out in this policy throughout their stay.
• The security, insurance, charging, maintenance, and safe use of any mobility equipment used at the Resort, in accordance with both the supplier's terms and conditions (where applicable) and the Resort's Mobility Scooter Policy.

• Operating mobility equipment safely, responsibly, and courteously at all times, with due consideration for other guests, team members, Resort conditions, and any instructions issued by the Resort.
• Ensuring their use of the equipment does not compromise the safety of themselves, other guests, team members, or Resort operations.
Guests requiring additional support in relation to fire evacuation procedures are encouraged to discuss this with the Resort prior to arrival.
Guests may be held responsible for any damage caused to Resort property resulting from the misuse, inappropriate operation, or negligent use of mobility equipment.
Potters Resorts accepts no liability for any accident, injury, loss, or damage relating to the use, operation, storage, or charging of a guest’s mobility scooter or powered wheelchair, except where caused directly by the negligence of Potters Resorts or its employees.
