The World Comes To Potters Every January
Every January, Potters Resorts Hopton-on-Sea hosts the Ambassador Cruise Line World Indoor Bowls Championships. Over 17 days we welcome the world’s best players, as they take to The International Arena to compete for the biggest titles in the sport.
You can find out more about our World Bowls Breaks and day tickets here. Or, for those who prefer to play rather than watch, we have a whole host of tournaments at both of our resorts.
Winter Bowls Tournaments
This January and February, you can enjoy a selection of inclusive bowls tournaments on selected breaks at the home of The World Indoor Bowls Championships. These extra activities are free-to-enter, but it’s important to register your participation in bowls at time of booking as spaces are limited.
Indoor Bowls Tournaments
You can enjoy free-to-enter bowls tournaments this winter, hosted in our Bowlers Bar and International Arena - home of the World Indoor Bowls Championships.
Format:
• Teams of four
• Knockout matches for top performing teams
• Teams will typically play four round robin games (occasionally three depending on participant numbers) of up to 90 minutes per game.
Short Mat Bowls Tournaments
This variation of carpet bowls is played on a specially designed 45-foot long and 6-foot wide mat, with a block in the middle and ditches at both ends, adding an extra layer of excitement and strategy to your game.
