Bronze Membership is perfect for casual golfers who still want the benefits of being a golf club member. As well as full access to all our membership benefits, you will get enough points for approximately 12-20 rounds per year.

Only £375 for 150 points or £39.44 per month via direct debit.

Our new all-inclusive membership allows you to pay one fee and play as often as you like. We have five day (Mon-Fri) and seven-day options available for you.

All membership types are required to pay a £30 fee to cover England/Essex Golf Fee and club levy. If Potters Resorts Five Lakes Golf Club is your second club, the fee is £10.

Direct debits are paid over 10 monthly instalments and have a £5 set up fee. For this process we use Premium Credit Fees Monthly.

Welcome To Our Golfers' Bar

Our brand-new Golfers' Bar is the place to unwind after (or before) your round of golf. With Sky Sports, sofas and a lovely modern feel this area is central to our golfing 'hub'.

Have a refreshing drink, a fancy coffee and relax in the Golfers' Bar area, and tuck into delicious food or sit back and enjoy live televised sport.

Membership FAQs

Is there a dress code?

Suitable golfing attire and shoes are required when playing on The Lakes Course.

How long does it take to play the Lakes Course?

We recommend allowing 4.5 hours for a fourball.

When does membership renew and how do I do it?

There is no annual renewal date, your membership will simply run for 12 months from the date you join. Any unused points from a 12 month period can be carried over once you have renewed. If you have used your points before the 12 months, that becomes your new renewal date.

Are there any restrictions on playing times/days?

You can play throughout the week, subject to any competitions where tee times may be restricted or unavailable.

Is there a handicap system in place?

We have the World Handicapping System and all members can gain a handicap after handing in three cards signed by another member. This then enables you to play in club competitions and access the England Golf app.

Are there any annual events or competitions?

We have a full list of events and competitions throughout the year which members can enjoy and get involved in.

Is the club affiliated with any professional associations?

The club is affiliated to England Golf and The Essex Golf Union where members can apply for an Essex Golf Union card to get discounts on green fees at other courses in the county.

Is the Lakes Course available all year round?

Having benefitted from over £1m investment in 2022, our course is in excellent condition throughout the year and is maintained by our experienced green-keepers with the very best course machinery. Our greens are regarded as the very best in the area. At times, the course requires essential maintenence, and we try to limit disruption to members by carrying this out during quieter periods. There may be short periods when the course is closed and in all circumstances this would be communicated in advance to the membership.

What about in bad weather?

Naturally, we look to protect the course through any periods of heavy rain or snow which may result in closure of the course and/or restricted use of buggies. In the event of lightening locally, a claxon will be sounded and the course closed until play can re-start. Should we need to close the course for an extended period, your tee time would be cancelled and points refunded. If you are already on the course, this will be at the discretion of the Golf Manager.

Is the club accessible for people with disabilities?

Yes, absolutely and our friendly team will happily help answer any specific requirements you have.

What’s the club’s smoking policy?

Smoking on the course is permitted (unless specified). At the Golfers’ Bar, we have a lovely outdoor patio area where smoking is permitted and ashtrays are provided.

Do we need to book tee times in advance?

We do require you to book tee times for yourself and any guests. Tee times are made available on a rolling basis up to 15 days ahead and can be booked using our app or via our website.

We are only a 20 minute drive from Colchester and 40 minutes from Chelmsford.
